My 2022 Yearly Reading Challenge Summed Up

I’ve written before about how I enjoy Reading Challenges and the biggest one I do every year is my annual reading challenge, which I’ve tracked on Goodreads every year since 2012.

In 2022 my goal was 70 books, but due to some unforeseen circumstances, I ended up having a bit more time to read than I had anticipated and I ended up at 105 books instead — 150% of my original goal. I’ve listed them below.

Disclaimer

Before we get started, I’ve been told that I rate books too harshly, but I try to follow Goodread’s guidelines:

1 star: did not like it
2 stars: it was ok
3 stars: liked it
4 stars: really liked it
5 stars: it was amazing

Most years I’m going for an average of 3.0, and according to my Year in Books, it was 2.9 for 2022, so close enough!

Fiction

  1. A Master of Djinn by P. Djèlí Clark — 4 stars — I also (correctly, for once) predicted that this one would win the Nebula.
