The triad of fulfillment — relationships, service, and purpose; offers a deeper, more enduring sense of well-being. To reclaim this, we need deliberate, actionable steps to reshape our priorities both individually and collectively.
Here’s how we can start:
1. Relationships: Reconnect Authentically
Human connection is foundational to our well-being. Yet, in a world of fleeting digital interactions, genuine relationships often take a backseat. To prioritize relationships:
- Make Time a Priority: Schedule regular check-ins or meetups with family and friends, just as you would for work. Treat these as sacred, non-negotiable appointments.
- Practice Presence: When you’re with someone, truly be with them. Put down your phone, make eye contact, and listen without rushing to respond.
- Build a Supportive Community: Join local groups or clubs aligned with your interests to foster meaningful connections.
At a societal level, workplaces can encourage relationship-building by promoting mentorship programs, team bonding activities, and flexible work policies that allow for personal time.
