Relationships
A Spiritual Poem

God and I have
an agreement about
our relationship that
neither one of us fully
understands. On one level
we pretend to be friends.
On another level we both
deny the other exists.
Sometimes late at night
when we are sharing
a cup of hot tea and
listening to the rumble
of the train, I will share
my deepest fears and
He will gather my spirit
in His large arms and
provide a few moments
of comfort to a lonely child.
I have noticed that my need
for Him grows with each passing day.
