Who would be like you, tiny yet mighty beast,

thriving at sea level or atop a mountain’s feast.

Rain pours, thunder roars, snow blankets the ground,

yet you, unfazed, in your world are found.

Famines, to you, are merely a pause in time,

no food? Your metabolism drops on a dime.

In scorching heat, you’re cool, never to burn,

not even if hell were the turn.

When cold strikes, you’re snug, immune to frostbite,

wrapped in nature’s coat, surviving the arctic night.

Transported to Mars or Jupiter, into the void,

still, you’d flourish, your spirit unalloyed.

To be like you, with your incredible might,

for your resilience, a beacon so bright.

Able to endure hunger, fire, and disdain,

overlooking ugliness, through the pain, you reign.

Who are you, creature of wonder and awe?

May you teach us, the earthbound, to redraw
