Recently, I experienced something that deeply troubled me and made me reflect on our society. When a relative of mine passed away, we went to their home to offer our condolences. What I saw there was quite disheartening.

There’s a troubling tradition where people seem to focus more on food and socializing rather than offering genuine support to the grieving family. For instance, it was distressing to see guests asking for specific food items like chicken leg pieces and soft drinks, even when the family was still in mourning.

Such behaviors highlight a significant issue in our society. It’s not just about the lack of education but also about awareness and empathy. The way people behave in these situations reflects a deeper problem within our community.
This was further emphasized when my husband attended a similar gathering, and he was shocked to witness people arguing over food and drinks while the family was grieving.

This kind of behavior is not only insensitive but also a reflection of broader issues in our country, such as economic difficulties, high inflation, and a lack of awareness.
It’s crucial for us to recognize these problems and strive to improve our behavior. Treating others with respect and empathy, especially in times of loss, is a step toward creating a more considerate and understanding society.

I’m sharing this not to criticize but to encourage reflection and change. As we move forward, let’s aim to support each other genuinely and work towards a society where compassion and respect prevail.
