Have you noticed lately that we are getting way too comfortable?

From spending most of our time in climate-controlled environments to shopping carts holding all of our food for us, to getting in our cars whenever we want to go somewhere. Our lives are becoming more and more convenient.

But this convenience and comfort don’t come without a cost.

While we are living in the most comfortable conditions humankind has ever seen, we’ve also never been more sick, more depressed and so unfulfilled. Our comfortable lifestyle is to blame.

We human beings have only been living in extreme comfort for a very short period of time. Modern Homo Sapiens have been around for about 200,000 years. We were physically fit as a result of working for our survival. We ate wilder, nutrient-rich foods and we lived in communities that provided equal access to resources.

We also had time to relax. There was no chronic disease, and some would venture to say that we were just overall happier.

This isn’t to say that our lives as hunters/gatherers were easy or carefree. Human beings have been seeking ways to make life more convenient and comfortable since our hunter/gatherer days because life…
