Was it Roswell or Corona?
It was initially reported, on the 8th July 1947, that an alien spacecraft had crashed in the desert of New Mexico near the town of Roswell.
The debris from the crash, the parts of the alien craft that had disintegrated, were crated up by the military and transported to Carswell, Fort Worth, Texas. The alien occupants, some still alive, were also quickly gathered up by the military and taken out of the area. Then the area was swept clean and left as if nothing had ever happened.
That’s one version of this famous UFO story.
Seventy years on, the Roswell incident is still being investigated by some ufologists who believe that the truth is still to be uncovered. The official version of events, reiterated many times, is that the item recovered was merely a weather balloon and that the story of aliens was a complete fabrication. End of story.
