Sam’s dream was to be part of the Foxboro High School Marching Band. He wanted to play the snare drum.

But Sam only weighed fifty pounds, almost the same weight as the drums. Nonetheless, he didn’t let that obstacle stop him from accomplishing his dream.

The band director saw it best for Sam to play instruments that didn’t take a toll on his body. Sam played pit percussion which included cool instruments like bongos, timpani, timbales, etc.

Playing pit percussion that didn’t fulfill Sam’s dream.

So Sam’s family sought the expertise of an engineer to manufacture a personal drum harness that would enable him to participate in the band.

The project was successful. The engineer made a light harness that weighed only six pounds and Sam finally made his dream come true.

Focus your energy on your “cans” and trash your “cants”

You need to be at peace with things out of your control.

Being out of control is not that unusual. No living thing is 100% in control all the time.
