…before I go any further, allow me to say that yes I know full well that countless innocent women get screwed over by men as well. I am not here to wage war on women or to paint them as any worse than men, we all get screwed by the same types of toxic narcissists. Not one gender or the other has a monopoly on marital nastiness. Back to the story of my dalliance with the bad guys.
During the internecine war that was raging at the time of my first divorce (chronicled in an earlier post, linked below) to get to the bottom of what was going on behind my back, I turned detective. I took to listening in to telephone calls. A word of warning about that, you have to be strong to listen in to your other half selling you down the river to anybody who will listen.
One seemingly innocent call to her best friend (another toxic piece of work by anybody’s standards) I heard her friend ask the love of my life (yes, that’s me being sarcastic) “What about the money? The fool still doesn’t know about that, does he?” Ha…
