Sex and Shame

For much of my childhood, I associated sex with shame because I grew up gay. It wasn’t something to enjoy but an affliction that brought up the reality of my sexuality each time I felt a desire to engage with my own instinct. Amidst my own denial of who I was, it was the continuous reminder of the truth I couldn’t yet share with anyone else.
