The value of quiet connections with strangers

As she got down from her workplace to ride back home, a lady, presumably from her office came and stood beside her

As luck would have it, the next auto that passed by, agreed to go to her destination

As she happily hopped in, the lady asked if she could accompany her till a certain point

knowing what a task it was to wait for autos to come, she readily agreed

As they sat on opposite ends of the vehicle, both looked out, both lost in their own worlds; both enjoying their shared solitude.

Nothing in that moment was forced and both women acknowledged each other’s presence by letting each other be in their own world by quietly respecting the other’s privacy.

Mid journey, the stranger opened a bag of munchies and offered it to her, strengthening their connection, still silently.

As the lady got down at her decided stop and waved goodbye, she saw herself waving back and hoping well for this stranger.

It struck her, simple everyday connection don’t always require words, life’s shared moments could be lived and enjoyed through actions.

With this insight on the value of quiet connections, she carried on with the rest of her journey.
