She Opened Her Arms to Possible
She appreciated her faithful sidekick.
She opened her arms to possible,
Sitting quiet while brakes squealed, babies cried, and old men hollered,
Absorbed the peace lurking beneath everyday noise
Attracted faithful friend to wait on the mat for her to join
Every morning without fail, without break, with deep, warm grin
Repelled small fears, meaningless aches, and timid wonders about what might have been.
Insisted on bigger, wilder and more wondrous than anything and anyone she’d ever dreamed
So when it arrived and when beloved walked in
She would recognize, cherish, and resume her quiet opening to possible
While cherishing what she’d attracted by simply waiting and accepting
Dreams coming true and more wonderful than anything she’d ever dare dream.
The most brilliant yoga teachers are those who pant and purr on the mat, waiting for us to join them in breathing in and breathing out.
