Smells Like Snow

First snowfall

Haoshuang Lou for Pexels

Cold, dark January night
Winter storm warnings
in the forecast
Snowflakes on the weather app

So we know what is on the horizon
Even as we breathe in the frigid air

That somehow
Smells like snow
