Smoke covers the mirror as sweat drips down my face

my temple is tired and ready to quit.

I lift my arm and reach my hand,

Still can’t seem to clear my clouded views,

I inhale the smoke

Burned.

But relaxed, then preceded to take a deep breath.

I extend my arm — soon,

Finally embraced the fumes

I slowly wiped the mirror clean

But steam steadily filled the room

The smoke again engulfs the mirror as sweat drips down my face

I release my arm but reach my hand back

Burned.

By the hot water that unseeingly dripped

In pain, but not in vain

My view became much clearer

I relaxed, took a deep breath.

Then finally started to see what was in the mirror.
