Snow, Silence, Solace

A Poem

ILLUMINATION

Among the snow, a contrast unfolds — the fleeting beauty in life’s cycle.

The world whispered
Had the murmur of burial
Whispered
Perpetual burial it had

Everything
Had a tale of
That
Tonight, snow
Is falling

Accompanied by elegiac words,
They went to bury
The dead
In the events
Beside the snows
That in the garden
Poured water
They had seen
The joyous
Green sprouts
Melting in the water
Of the snow
If they had taken
One step forward
The night would come to an end
The space of the room
For silence
And their longings
And regrets
Was too small
Their refuge
In the cold
Was only
A cup of hot tea.
