Social Media Conversations
Value, Measuring and Strategy

Value of Networking
Networking in Person
Before Covid, I always networked through my job. I worked on a team as part of a larger group of teams that worked in an office. It was inherently a web of people working together.
There were also “outside of office” functions that helped build networks, such as going away lunches, retirement parties, conferences, etc. I enjoyed these functions because they meant meeting new people and networking.
Networking Online
More recently, especially with the remote work situation, I network online through social media, by joining LinkedIn and Facebook.
On LinkedIn, for example, I connect to professional people that I know, mostly from different jobs I’ve had.
On Facebook, I link to friends as well as coworkers. As a result, I have created an amazing network of valuable contacts through social media. I have had an offline relationship with most of them as well, having met most of them in person.
