Problem solving is one of the most important aspects of the management function.

1.Managers must deal with operational, production, quality, personnel, and sometimes marketing and financial issues.

  • Manager experience is the most common solution to these problems.

If he or she has been involved in this type of work for a period of time, chances are that similar problems have occurred in the past. There is a good chance that applying what worked in the past will work now. Unfortunately, this is not always the case.

Sometimes a solution that worked in the past doesn’t work today. Although it may appear to be the same problem, the circumstances may differ somewhat.

2. Managers have to make a decision considering the analysis, but at the same time they have to take into account the opinion of the other parties.

  • They must collect relevant data and information to evaluate the available options. Analyze this information against stability criteria and identify the advantages and disadvantages of each option.

Identifying the advantages and disadvantages will allow you to anticipate the consequences of each choice and ensure that you take into account all the relevant aspects in making the decision and thanks to this detailed analysis you will end up making more informed and well-founded decisions.

3. Managers must monitor and evaluate progress in solving the problem, as adjustments or changes may be necessary along the way.

  • The manager must ensure that clear and achievable objectives are set from the beginning of the project, taking care that everything goes well.

They must regularly monitor the progress of the project involving the tracking of deadlines, budgets and the use of resources, being essential to identify in time any deviations from the planned course of action.
