A few years ago, I wrote a story that I have been updating gradually. Initially, I harbored a secret hope that the horrendous gun massacres would cease, so I refrained from publishing the story.

However, it appears that the opposite has happened, as mass shootings in the US have now become the new norm in 2023.

Even here on Medium, I read from my favorite writers' stories about gun violence Teresa Roberts, Walter Rhein, or umair haque.

One of the reasons, I left America for good in 2018 and moved to Spain was the frequency of mass shootings.

Now, each morning when I wake up in Spain, I read about a new mass shooting that happened in the US. These shootings now happen in different locations such as schools, supermarkets, and even hospitals.

The level of mass shooting danger in America has increased to the point where it’s scary to go to places like stores, malls, or schools.

It is heartbreaking to see so much violence, and even more so when it happens in a place that should be safe.
