Coral Jasmine or Nyctanthes arbor-tristis is a night flowering plant with droopy branches. It bears heavily scented delicate orange-stemmed white flowers blooming profusely at dusk, found showered on the ground with spillage of its perfume in the morning.

In India the flower starts blooming in late August carpeting the ground through October and November. Kindled snowflakes still cascade onto the grass though dwindling in number while December is slipping away.
Revered as a favourite of lord Krishna, it is also known as’Har Singar' in India meaning 'the ornament of God’. In Hindu mythology, it is believed to be one of the many celestial trees received while churning ocean of cosmos (samudra manthan).
