“I am attracted to people who make this effort in knowing what suits them — they are individual and stylish.”

- Vivienne Westwood

Who would not? However, during the current unprecedented time, it is perhaps one of the most challenging tasks or the lowest priorities on your daily to-do-list (if you have one) to make that effort keeping yourself stylish “at home”!

I agree, but I disagree.

I agree because while the most important thing for yourself, family and friends is to stay healthy and safe, who would make extra efforts to be attractive? To whom, exactly?! To be stylish? What for, to be honest?!

But I disagree, because NOW, especially now, is THE time to make this effort, to stay stylish, more than ever! For whom? For yourself first! And then, others around you under the same roof, and those remotely or virtually. What for? There are too many reasons to stay stylish while staying at home from mental and physical perspectives. Just name a few:

1. You look good!

For instance, you look good in your virtual/online working meetings. And that might (just slightly) boost your confidence and leave a good impression on your virtual meetings. I know, this sounds superficial. But, give a try.

2. You feel happier and more fun!

If you look good and stylish, it will improve your mood while anxiety and stress could easily crawl into your mind and body.

3. You have a sense of small accomplishment and uplifted spirit.

These might be small wins: making extra efforts, picking out your outfit, and putting it on. But when you stand in front of the mirror, looking at yourself in a beautifully suited outfit, don’t you feel mission accomplished?

It is always easier said than done. Therefore, I am more than happy to put my “staying stylish at home” process together and demonstrate a 7-piece wardrobe for various scenarios without too much trouble. Yes, follow me, all you need is 7 pieces for a smart wardrobe — LOL.

Step 1. Select 7 pieces from your wardrobe.

Here are some of my favorites: white blouse, Capri jeans, black slacks, bright color blazer, summery skirt, little black dress, springy cardigan. And please feel free to add one or two accessories, such as, your favorite scarf, simple and comfortable white canvas shoes.

Step 2. Mix and match time — fun time!

So how could it be possible? Seven pieces (plus 2 accessories) for 7 days? Yes, with proper mixing and matching, it is not an impossible mission and actually, a lot of fun doing it!

Here are 7 day-scenarios for the demo:
Day 1 — Virtual meeting outfit.
Day 2 — A rainy spring or summer day outfit.
Day 3 — A comfy yet formal outfit.
Day 4 — An outfit of casual elegance.
Day 5 — A classy outfit for a classy evening.
Day 6 — A sunny spring or summer day outfit.
Day 7 — A sporty yet formal outfit.

A picture is worth a thousand words. So, here you go.
