I want you to imagine this scene:

You’re with your family, children, grandchildren, siblings, relatives, etc.

They switch on the television to watch a show, but there is only one show playing.

That show is a replay of your life.

All the most memorable moments of your life.

The moments that you cherish.

How long would that show be?

Would it be an hour long?

Or would it span hundreds of hours?

Would you be willing to show that to everyone?

Or are you embarrassed by it?

Would you sit down and watch that show fully immersed in your life?

Or would you pull out your phone after 5 minutes to distract yourself?

Would people enjoy that show?

You are a movie director.

Right now.

Your target audience is yourself.

You can only make one movie.

What would it look like?

What is the plot of the story?

How does it play out?

What does the main character do?

How do they act?

What is their character?

You are the main character in this movie.

In your movie.

What are you achieving in this movie?

What supporting characters do you have in this movie?

What do you do in this movie?

Is this movie 50% you just playing video games?

Or is there a story?

Your life won’t always be interesting.

There are days when you don’t do anything interesting.

And that is normal.

There are good episodes.

And there are bad episodes.

But for a show to have a good rating, the bad must outweigh the good.

“Good episodes” doesn’t mean an episode where everything is smooth, no problems, no issues, and everyone is happy.

Oftentimes times the good episodes are the ones where the main character goes through the most issues.

The main character faces problems that cause them to grow as a person.

Imagine a show where the main character just lies in bed scrolling on their phone.

Whenever an opportunity that could be interesting crosses their mind they shut it down.

Imagine a main character who has no goals in life, no purpose, and they are not trying to search for it either.

Would you watch that show?

Of course not, it’s boring.

So why are you living that show?

The most interesting parts of your life were the ones you went through hardship.

Those were also the parts where you grew a lot.

Say ‘Yes’ more to experiences that sound exciting or scary to you.

You might like it, and even if you didn’t, you got a fun scene in your movie.

You will look back on it and smile.

Conclusion

Live life like a movie.

Take the opportunities you get.

Create a life that you’re proud of.
