A Poem

Photo by Felix Mittermeier on Unsplash

If there was a light
the sky has now gone dark — darker
& wondering about all the things
left open
I grip the heart
covered in agony & declamation
but something has stuck its finger
into the spokes…
Falling into the rhythm of rain
a caution comes down
comes down to claim a reinvention
of solitude
of a kind of protection
you didn’t know you needed
till now
