Whether you have an interest in politics or you don’t, you probably know who Abraham Lincoln and John F. Kennedy are.

The two men are a significant part of American history. Abraham Lincoln served as the 16th president of the United States while John F. Kennedy served as the 35th president of the United States.

The one similarity that is known by many about the two presidents is that they were both assassinated in office.

But a year after JFK’s assassination, people started talking about other coincidences which have since become American folklore.

Here are the coincidences;

  1. They were both assassinated in office
  2. Both were elected presidents in ’61 (March 4, 1861, for Abraham Lincoln and January 20, 1961).
  3. Being elected in 1861 and 1961 means that they were elected exactly 100 years apart.
  4. Each of their popular names contains 7 letters (Lincoln, Kennedy).
  5. Both presidents, while in their 30s, married a socially prominent girl in her 20s who spoke fluent french.
  6. Both first ladies lost a son while in office and each son’s full name…
