The hope is you remember, who you are and whose who are, and that ultimately, you are loved. While we are not fatalistic, death is embraced as a celebration and meeting with the beloved, on the beloved’s time.

“Then perhaps you would kill yourself through grief over them, [O Muhammad], if they do not believe in this message, [and] out of sorrow.” — Meaning of The Quran, The Cave 18:6

“Then the pains of labor drove her to the trunk of a palm tree. She cried, ‘Alas! I wish I had died before this, and was a thing long forgotten!’” — Meaning of The Quran, Mary 19:23

“Do people think that they will be left alone just because they say: “We believe,” and they will not be tested?” — Meaning of The Quran, The Spider 29:2

“And do not kill yourselves, surely God is most Merciful to you.” — Meaning of The Quran, The Women 4:29

If Allah wills good for someone, He gives them trials.

— Prophetic Tradition, Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 5645

“Say (O Muhammad): O ye who are Jews! If ye claim that ye are favoured of Allah apart from (all) mankind, then long for death if ye are truthful.” — Meaning of the Quran, 62:6
