Teachers Day is Very Special For Me
Everyone is celebrating today.
Today we celebrate Teachers Day in India. One of our former presidents of the country, Radhakrishna Pillai, said he was a teacher first and a president of the country later.
He declared that there must be a designated day to celebrate the teachers of the country who are doing selfless work to shape the country's youth in schools, colleges, and universities. In deference to his wishes, the nation celebrates Teachers Day.
I feel that besides the formal teaching system where teachers have been appointed, those who have lit the candle of knowledge and those who brighten your world with new learnings are the true teachers and can extend to parents, and siblings too, and those who come into our lives and teach us good values, thanks to them.
Some things today have been very special for me.
I have had a long-standing career in teaching and I have retired from full-time work now.
My inbox is full of messages. I have also received calls from several students from all over the world thanking me for having been in their lives and if they ever they could be of any help to me I should call them.
