LEGISLATION IS UNNECESSARY WHEN YOU HAVE THE BENCH

Thank You, Clarence Thomas

The 1950s were great!

In a personal email, Congressman Burgess Owens has this to say:

Make no mistake, John, this is a HISTORIC moment for all Americans. Our nation’s Supreme Court struck down wrong-from-the-beginning race based Affirmative Action.

“Now, it’s time to say thank you to one of the men who made this all possible. I grew up in the South in a segregated school system that treated people differently based on the color of their skin. I know what it’s like to grow up in a time and place where bigotry and racism were constantly perpetuated.

“But with hard work and determination, I was able to achieve the American Dream, regardless of the color of my skin.

“That’s the SAME message we should be sending to our kids today: no matter what you look like or where you come from, achieving the American Dream is possible. We have Clarence Thomas to thank for that. Will you join me and say thanks today?

“SAY THANK YOU TODAY!”

Just to be sure you don’t miss them, here are the takeaways:

Hard work alone assures success in America. Our playing field is completely level.

There is no longer any systemic racism. Thank goodness!

If you are not successful, it’s your own fault, you godless lazy slob.

Affirmative Action, which was always wrong, is unnecessary and even discriminatory.

So thank you, “Justice” Thomas, for pointing this out for all to see. And thank you to both you and Congressman Burgess for being the ones to inform us. It is good to know that Black folk are 100% behind this change.

The author believes there can be some alternate means of providing the underprivileged with assistance in attaining an education, but his hopes are not high.
