Every year growing up, on my birthday I would say, “Stop doing that. You have to do (this new thing.) You are — — now.” It never changes.

It still hasn’t changed because each year I have to change. I will be 73 on Sunday, May 19. I needed to go to the doctor because I was wobbly on my feet and could not walk a straight line with confidence. I have neglected myself and have not been to a doctor for 29 years or so.

The doctor has found that I have high blood pressure and that has caused the wobble in my walk. We are dealing with it by changing medicine that doesn’t have many or any side effects, and keeping track of it.

I am walking better now but there still is a strange wobble.

I have even lost weight purposely to see if that would change the high blood pressure but it hasn’t.

It is not only high, it is high enough to scare people of the medical persuasion.

They want me to lower my salt intake, which I have. I don’t add any anymore. I found that you can actually taste the food now. I read the labels and checked the sodium in all of them.
