Hey, Awesome Souls! Happy New Year!

So, buckle up because we’re diving into a topic that’s as spicy as your favorite hot sauce — success!

Imagine this — a few days back, I spoke to an old schoolmate after nine whole years. We took a nostalgic trip down memory lane, reminiscing about the days when I was the “tomboy” kind of teenager, jamming to metal tunes.

But hey, times change, right?

Now I’m still rocking in life but ditched the heavy metal for my poor heart’s sake.

Our little reunion got me thinking, what the heck happened to the rest of my high school crew?

Thanks to the wonders of social media stalking (yeah, we all do it), I found out something interesting. The folks who aced grades weren’t necessarily the ones ruling the world now. Cue the eyebrow raise!

Let’s turn back the clock a bit.

Remember when learning was like a spontaneous dance, and play and education were like BFFs? Yeah, that was the pre-agricultural revolution era. Fast forward to the Industrial Revolution, and suddenly, we’re all about systematic instruction. Playful learning? Nah, let’s squash that like a bug.

Today, being a “good student” means juggling textbooks, getting good grades, and being the Hermione Granger of your class.

But here’s the kicker — the A+ students might not be the ones rewriting the rules after graduation.

So, there’s this study by Karen Arnold, the brainiac from Boston College. She studied high school valedictorians, and guess what? They’re rocking the GPA game but not necessarily the world-changing game.

Why the A+ Doesn’t Always Translate to A++ in Life?

Two words — rule followers. Schools love students who color inside the lines, but that doesn’t mean they’ll create the next big thing. Success in the real world is about breaking molds, not fitting into them.

Hold up, the story doesn’t end there.

Let’s talk about culture, social status, and environment. If your family is banking on you nailing school to secure a future, you’re not gonna risk it, right? It’s like being handed the baton in a relay race — no pressure, just carry the dreams of your entire lineage!

Leadership styles matter too. There are the “filtered” leaders — the career ladder climbers, and the “unfiltered” leaders — the mavericks who think outside the box. Guess what? Both are crucial, just in different scenarios.

Crafting Your Unique Success Story: The takeaway?

Success isn’t a one-size-fits-all situation. If you’re an academic ninja, rock those traditional paths. If you’re more of a rule-breaker, maybe it’s time to dance to the beat of your drum. It’s about finding your groove, baby!

In the end your Success, Your Rules — So, whether you aced high school or barely made it through, success is about using what you’ve got in the right setting. The world needs the disciplined and the rebels, the followers and the rule breakers. What’s your story? Spill the tea in the comments below!

Remember, your success, your rules. Let’s turn those dreams into reality!

Don’t worry you don’t need to buy me coffee or my course! If you liked the read, let’s connect!
