The Adventure Begins: South Iceland
Find out what to visit in Southern Iceland. From Skogafoss to the diamond beach without forgetting Vatnajökull and Svartifoss.
Leaving the city center and setting off on the adventure to the South, you begin to enter the wilderness that distinguishes Iceland from any other nation. I would like to clarify that the south is the most touristic area compared to the other areas of the island because the main attractions are almost all along the ring road (road that connects the whole island) and therefore makes access easier even for people with disabilities.
In order of distance from Reykjavik city center, the first attraction to be found is Seljalandsfoss to your left. (direction Hofn)
This waterfall is particular and is one of the most beautiful as it is characteristic because there is a path that runs behind the waterfall itself and allows you to take breathtaking photos. For the more adventurous, following the signs once you exit the path behind the waterfall you will find signs for a waterfall that flows into a cave that is not easy to reach. Due to the location of the waterfall, rainbows due to the falling water are very frequent.
