The Ame-DACA’n Dream (water color on paper, J. P. Moriarty)

I had an American dream
Wanted to play for the Knicks;
Was persecuted from my country
When I was merely six.
I could be a doctor, I could teach kids —
I could do all in the land o’ the free!
Or so I thought back then
Ere all this began;
All that I pray for now
Is my right to live in this land.
