Brain Health and Cognitive Function
The Brain Needs 3 Types of Nutrition
As neurons, dendrites, and axons require exercise and rest to survive and thrive, they also need specific nutrients to function optimally for cognitive health.
All organs are necessary for the body, yet the brain is special because it manages all of them. Without a brain, other organs cannot survive. The human brain has a complex network of cells and connections to oversee bodily functions in cells, tissues, organs, and systems.
Besides, the brain is responsible for processing sensory information and enabling complex metacognitive processes like thinking, learning, and decision-making, which we associate with the mind believed to be hosted in the brain.
Like any other body part, the brain relies on adequate and natural nutrients for survival, growth, and performance. However, the brain needs more energy than other organs; therefore, nutrition is more important for its survival and doing its work as desired by the body and mind.
