The Day You Realize Ambition Is Meaningless
How much is enough
When you start to realize we’re conditioned (marketed to) to never be satisfied, it’s when the world starts to look different. You realize you’re halfway there on your self-actualization journey.
The goalposts keep moving. There’s never this feeling of “I’ve got enough.” When you see 80-year-old politicians refusing to hang it up. Forgetting what they’re going to say in front of a crowd. Clinging to power instead of enjoying time with their families.
Does any of this make sense? People working to work, once they’ve already made it. Our time here is so limited, but it’s being spent on the hamster wheel. Taking ourselves way too seriously. Keeping up with the Joneses.
We wake up every single day wanting to be productive. Chase that promotion. Make more money. Telling yourself I’ll slow down this year. At some point you innately know that less is more. Removing things…not adding things to your plate…is what will truly make you happy.
Your time is the most important thing you possess
