Diversity, Synergy, Fusion, Serendipity
The Fastest Growing New Publication on Medium
Why you should be writing for ILLUMINATION
“Jump off the cliff and build your wings on the way down.” ~Ray Bradbury
What if all you needed was someone to nudge you forward? Someone who’d give you the permission slip to showcase your true self?
Dr. Mehmet Yildiz gave me that nudge and the push. He started a new publication on Medium with the expressed intent of filling in the gap created by Medium’s unpredictable system of curation. The purpose statement reads:
We curate outstanding articles from diverse domains and disciplines to create fusion and synergy.
He has a grand plan to take this new publication that he calls a community to be one of the largest pubs on Medium within the next twelve months. It’s not just a pipe dream like most of us have. He has a definite plan for it that he has put in action. His strategy is working, and in just 12 days since its inception, ILLUMINATION has 536 followers with a previous day growth of 34, according to Top Pub.
It was just the beginning for me. As I followed Dr. Yildiz’s lead and started participating in his plan — and honestly, I am not fully vested in it yet — I have seen an increase in engagement on my stories. I have also gained followers who are interested in reading my stories, who are reading my stories, and then following me. I am not the only one. My daily income has grown in the past few days as well.
Writing For Illumination Has Almost Doubled My Views And Reads
Dr. Mehmet Yildiz’s new publication is snowballing and has a functioning community.
As a part of his strategy for growth, for the writers, and the community as a whole, Dr. Yildiz challenged us to create quality and quantity. He suggested that we publish a 300–500 words story every day for 30 days on a single theme. With more than 170 writers in the community, that could be more than 5,000 stories, if everyone took up the challenge.
I decided to indulge in the challenge. I needed a kick in pants; I mean a nudge and a push. One of the requirements was to create fresh and unique content with every story. No regurgitating of the same ideas is acceptable or desirable. That was challenging until this morning when I realized the genius of the plan. Short articles mean you can get it done quickly, and no repetition means you can write on a different topic every day within the same theme.
I chose Self-Improvement as my theme, not because I am an expert, but because I am going through a metamorphosis myself right now as I have done before. I quickly made a list of all the tools I have used in the past. I have 31 as of this writing. I may discover a few more as I improve and grow.
Can you imagine? At the end of 30 days, I will have 30 articles on a single theme, each one about 500 words. That’s how I wrote my first book. If I can add a few more topics and later on expand on each one of them to about to a thousand words each, I would have a manuscript of 30 to 40 thousand words, which I can then publish as a book.
