Wow, the freelance writing market is dry. I see messages from fellow writers having the toughest time finding work.

The competition is intense. There are many writers who need work and not enough jobs.

The jobs that are available at a fraction of the rate writers are used to getting.

What the heck is happening?

The industry is shifting? AI is taking over?

Whatever is happening, it’s making it so hard for writers, me included.

I recently lost one of my largest and longest-time writing clients. It came out of the blue when me and other writers were released.

This is the nature of these things, I guess.

They are moving into new fields.

That doesn’t mean that they are abandoning freelance writing but, while waiting on the right opportunities, they aren’t sitting on their laurels.
