Although traditional paper books still sell globally more than e-books. There is a benefit to only publishing digital books. If you are self-published and selling on a site such as Amazon, then e-books are going to outsell physical books by a massive margin. I generally sell 10 e-books to 1 paperback per month. Some of my books have never even sold in a physical format. Most of them aren’t even available as a paper book!

Why is this?

Mostly it’s about the changes in reading and readers. Many people aren’t reading long nonfiction books. People want quick answers and directions on how to do something. Most don’t want to read long passages of someone’s experience, life, work history, education and thank you’s to whoever.

Give me the information or I am not reading any further and I am certainly not buying another book from you.

In the past, short published guides were simply not financially viable. The non-standard print cost alone would put most publishers off, and if they did publish, the cost of that would be put on the buyer. And who wants to pay for a ten-page guide at a higher cost than a full book?
