Elon Musk, the world’s richest person on earth, has recently jumped at a deal to buy Twitter for over 40 billion dollars. But will he follow through is the real question. His reasoning for this Twitter take-over is truly confusing. It seems as if he believes freedom of speech actually means freedom without consequences. The current pending deal has taken the internet by storm, causing many Twitter users on the far right to jump back onto Twitter and some on the left of the political spectrum to actually deactivate their Twitter accounts if the deal goes through. He claims to be a champion of “free speech” but evidence suggests that that’s just not the case.

However, if we set the Twitter fiasco aside for the moment, we should all be grateful that there’s one thing about Elon Musk that we should be celebrating together. No, it’s not his electric car company Tesla that plays a part in helping the environment. It’s not his private space company SpaceX either, nor his ability to fluctuate the Bitcoin market. It’s the fact that him and his power-hungry characteristics are not able to obtain a job even higher than the tech companies he owns and oversees. That job is being elected President of the United States.
