Next, create a two-hour-long documentary, narrated by Neil deGrasse Tyson, which proves that the Earth is flat. Include footage from Albert Einstein and other famous scientists that prove why this ‘fact’ is hidden from the wider population.
What I have just described is not fiction. This technology is just a few years away. Anyone who has interacted a bit with new AI technologies like ChatGPT, Midjourney, DALL-E, and Google’s Gemini should be at least somewhat concerned.

The rise of deepfakes and the proliferation of misinformation is growing day by day. We have already seen how this has affected recent elections in the US. Creating false narratives can easily influence voters’ perceptions and, hence, the outcome of democratic elections.
