The Longest 8 Minutes of My Life
The theme for today is Boredom. Why is it so hard to entertain ourselves without the help of social media? Is it true that boredom stimulates creativity?
Usually, I don’t grocery shop early in the morning.
But this one time I really needed something, I think it was some bananas because I remember wanting to make a smoothie so bad and I had to satisfy my craving otherwise my day would have started on the wrong foot.
So after taking my dog on its usual early morning walk I headed toward the grocery store. It was 7:51 AM and when I went in front of the automatic-opening door I almost crushed my face on it. It didn’t open, the store was closed. That was the moment I remembered that Coop (a Swiss grocery store), only opens at 8:00 AM, so I had to wait.
One more minute passed and it was 7:52 AM.
So I thought to myself: “It’s ok, it’s only 8 minutes that I have to wait. It could’ve been worst, for example, I could’ve arrived here at the store forgetting that it was Sunday, but instead, I only have to wait a couple of minutes”. Little did I know that I was about to experience the longest 8 minutes of my life.
