Or Just Outwards and Inwards?

Outwards — Beautiful gestures, patient, smiling face.
Inwards — Shattered to pieces, panicky, sad.

Outwards — Full of optimism with a hope for the future.
Inwards — Hopeless, helpless, desolate.
