Self mastery is not something we do. It’s something we stop doing.

Self mastery is less about getting great at being productive, controlling our actions and improving ourselves and more about to what extent we can live without need to control anything about ourselves.

Discipline is only useful for doing the thing we don’t love.

The only reason we would do something we don’t love is if we’re avoiding the truth of the moment.

The truth of the moment is you are happiness itself.

I mean this literally, you are the pure essence of consciousness from which the experience we call “happiness” emulates into the human experience.

You need no reason to do what you want or have what you deserve.

A mother doesn’t need to discipline herself to look after her children. Even though admittedly all mothers will say that there are some days (or most) that they don’t want to.

This in itself is proof that controlling or disciplining our actions is not necessary.

Do it out of love.

But if you don’t love what you’re doing (relationship, job or otherwise) then you will have to discipline yourself to do it.
