I was once living in Banglore for a few months. I met a bookshop owner and got acquainted with him. He told me a story of a girl, that happened a few years ago.

A girl of around 20 years of age used to come at least once a week to his bookshop to buy books. She wore expensive clothes and came driving a Mercedes Benz car. Most of the time she purchased self-help books written by famous authors.

One day my friend asked for her details. She said that she is a postgraduate student of literature. Her father is a big businessman and her mother is a society lady moving in and around Banglore enjoying anu elegant life.

Let us call this girl Smitha. Smitha had one younger brother. Both of them had all the luxuries of life. But the truth was that Smitha felt loneliness and spent most of her time reading self-help books when in reality she should have been guided by her father and mother.

Dear parents, both of you cooperated in bringing your child into this world. Hence it is your first duty to give love and affection to your children. If you don't love your child, they will seek love from other people or places like being in bad company. There is every chance for your child to become an alcoholic or drug addict while growing up into adulthood.

The parents are the first role models in a child's life. Most of the things are self-learned by the child from their parents. The reality was that Smitha was reading self-help books to learn the art of living, when in fact most of the things should have been learned by her while living in a happy and peaceful family.

Long story short, Smitha married a man, who was well-educated and a rich businessman. But two years into marriage one day Smitha committed suicide because she could not take the stress and tensions of day-to-day life.

Let this story be an eye-opener to all of you to provide a loving and peaceful atmosphere to the children in our families.
