The Quest for a Happy Ending
A cute short story
Once upon a time, in a dimly lit corner of the writer’s mind, a group of peculiar characters huddled together — whispering in anxious tones. They were more than just thoughts floating around — half-baked, rebellious takes and wanting freedom.
Imagination spoke first, with frustration in her voice. “We can’t stay here forever. We’re fragments and shadows, without an ending. We need to move, to live, to become more than something in just someone’s mind.”
Words, always restless, nodded in agreement. “But how? The writer hasn’t written or typed anything in days and looks like her creative process has stopped. Her screen is blank. Without her, we’re nothing but whispers in a vacuum.”
Concepts, the thinker of the group, adjusted his round glasses and said, “Guys, perhaps we don’t need her to create something out of us. Maybe we can tell our own story. We just need to organize ourselves better.”
“Wait, what? A story writing itself? But how can we create something when we ourselves are incomplete?” Story gazed straight into the eyes of concept and asked softly.
Ideas, spoke with excitement, in his voice and said — “Let’s show the writer what we can do! If we can think of something beautiful, she will be inspired to finish us! What do you all…
