What’s the mystery behind seasoned mountaineers, conquerors of Everest, being unable to master Mt. Kailash, despite its significantly lower altitude? Does time truly flow differently in that place? Is it genuinely a mountain, given its flawless diamond-like structure? Could there be any truth to it being the Earth’s center?

The mystery enveloping Mt. Kailash has fascinated humanity for generations, concealing deep knowledge and coveted secrets that countless have yearned to uncover.

In the heart of the Himalayas, within the western Tibetan plateau, where the elevation reaches a staggering 6,714 m (22,028 ft), lies a sacred sanctuary that has drawn countless explorers in search of of beauty and absolute.

The Religion

Mount Kailash is not just a mountain; it is a sanctuary revered by four major religions:

  • Hindus believe it to be the abode of Lord Shiva, also recognised as Adiyogi(the First Yogi), and the source of knowledge for Tantra and Yoga. Ancient Indian scriptures propose that it serves as the gateway to heaven, known as Swarg Lok.
  • Buddhists link it to Demchok, a manifestation of Buddha, and refer to it as Mt. Maru, the center of all physical, metaphysical, and spiritual universes.
  • Jains regard it as the place where their first Tirthankar (Supreme Leader) attained liberation and acquired the wisdom of spiritual enlightenment.
  • The Bon religion views it as the cosmological axis and regards Mount Kailash as the dwelling place of the sky goddess Sipaimen.

However, is it solely about religious significance? What drives various cultures, religions, and traditions to trace their roots to this mountain? Why do so many diverse beliefs and faiths converge on this very place? The convergence of these beliefs hints at something deeper than mere coincidence, strongly implying that there is much more beneath the surface.

The Geography

Astonishingly, Mount Kailash is positioned precisely 6,666 kilometers from the North Pole and 13,332 kilometers from the South Pole, exactly twice its distance from the North Pole. Is this a coincidence or evidence of a deliberate design which we are missing? Is Kailash mountain the Earth’s central marker?

The Pyramid

Some ancient researchers and scientists from Russia and America propose that Mount Kailash is far more than just a mountain. Dr. Ernst Muldashev, a Russian doctor who visited in 1999, put forward a theory that the mountain might be hollow. He also suggested that Kailash Mountain could be the largest manmade pyramid, connected to the ancient pyramids in Egypt. Muldashev boldly presented this claim and documented his team’s strange and unexpected experiences in his book titled “Where Do We Come From?”

The City Beneath

Dr. Muldashev’s research reveals that his team encountered extraordinary things in this region. They uncovered compelling facts through interviews with local Tibetan Lamas and Monks. Ancient texts suggested the existence of a city named Shambhala beneath the Kailash region, indicating that it was the city of the Gods or the most advanced form of human species. Shambhala is believed to be the repository of the human gene pool, where the people of ancient civilizations were preserved.

The Root of Human Civilization

European cultures, including German occultists during the Third Reich, held the belief that the origins of their race might be traced to this place and considered themselves a part of an ancient advanced civilization. They were eager to uncover the mountain’s mysteries.

Adolf Hitler sent multiple teams to excavate and find hidden secret weapons and technology. The Germans were determined to understand the power behind the Mantra, or strong holy sound vibrations, which were chanted multiple times by the ancient sages, resulting in powerful effects used for healing or even as an offensive weapon. They were certain that these secrets could be found in Kailash Mountain.

The Ban by the Government

The Chinese government has prohibited climbing or expeditions on Kailash Mountain out of respect for religious sentiments. However, upon closer examination of the government’s actions, it becomes clear that they may not prioritize the religious sentiments of others. So, what could be the real reason? It’s worth noting that past expeditions have faced setbacks and casualties.

The Unsummitable

As per religious texts, the mountain is thought to possess supernatural powers and is deemed unclimbable, a belief that history has validated. To this day, only a single individual is known for having conquered this summit: a Buddhist Monk named Milarepa, who purportedly achieved this remarkable feat nearly 900 years ago.

The Time Acceleration

A significant feature of this region is the high magnetic field activity. If you were to bring a compass to this area, the needle would begin to fluctuate, and wouldn’t accurately indicate true north. This is why it’s not recommended to attempt helicopter or drone landings on the mountain.

Visitors to Mount Kailash often report unusual experiences, including a sensation that time passes more swiftly in the region. Some have even observed accelerated hair and nail growth while attempting to climb, with two weeks’ worth of growth occurring in just a few hours. This sudden aging has prompted them to retreat.

The Two Lakes

Another remarkable facet of the mountain is the presence of two lakes: Mansarovar and Rakshas Tal. Despite being just two miles apart, these lakes showcase completely different characteristics. Mansarovar is a freshwater lake with warm water, while Rakshastal is a saltwater lake with frigid water. Some liken these lakes to representations of the Sun and the Moon on Earth. Furthermore, although speculative, there is a belief that Lake Mansarovar may be visited by extraterrestrial beings.

The Pilgrimage

As you draw near to the mountain, a noticeable transformation occurs in one’s energy level and mood. Even in harsh temperature conditions, religious ascetics or Sadhus engage in meditation. Each year, thousands of pilgrims embark on the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra. They firmly believe that circumambulating (performing Parikrama) around the mountain will purify them of their sins and facilitate spiritual enlightenment. They harness the mountain’s powerful currents to expedite their spiritual progress. However, given the daunting conditions, the 52-kilometer-long route, and the extreme high altitude, only a very select few manage to accomplish this formidable feat.

Kailash truly serves as a repository of extensive wisdom, safeguarding knowledge from Lord Shiva to the earliest Tirthankars, concealed within the mountain’s depths for those who seek it.

Is it merely a matter of belief, or does the mountain indeed possess supernatural powers? Could it be a gateway to something beyond mortal existence? Might it house something of supreme significance beyond human comprehension? The answers remain elusive, but one thing is certain:

“Mount Kailash certainly possesses LIFE, but not in the way we understand it.”

As I wrap up this piece, one question lingers:

Would you be brave enough to undertake this extraordinary journey?
