I’ll admit that the link between the supply chain and Universal Basic Income (UBI) seems far-fetched at first.

However, both are intrinsically connected due to basic economics.

Before we dive into it, we need to understand what is UBI, how runs the worldwide supply chain, and why it’s such a mess at the moment.

What Is UBI

UBI is a fairy-tale idea to give everyone in society a guaranteed minimum amount of money without having to do anything for it.

Doesn’t matter if you work, are unemployed, are retired, or if you’re just a student.

That money is supposed to help you throughout the month and you’d be able to spend it as you wish.

The idea is based on the need to ensure that everyone has their basic needs covered no matter what happens in their lives.

While the intentions are honorable, our society, as it exists, isn’t yet ready for UBI.

Here’s why.
