Be mindful when it comes to your words. A string that doesn’t mean much to you may stick with someone else forever. — Rachel Wolchin (I took the photo)

The Words I Always Wished to Hear

We all wish to hear something that we never heard in life. It could be a word or phrase that can change our perception of life.

As a teenager, I wanted to hear words like “I believe in you, You can do it, or I care for you.” They may seem simple words but possess the power to inspire or encourage people.

Sadly, the more simple these words are, the less they are spoken. Humans need encouragement, all I wished to hear in my childhood were these words from my loved ones.

I am sharing my experience to spread awareness of how important it is to show love to people around you so they can succeed in life — it’s like an energy boost for all of us.

I never had the confidence to grow because I believed I couldn’t do it — just because someone else criticized my choices. Childhood and young adulthood are stages of life where our personality develops. When we experience things in these crucial periods, whether negative or positive it stays with us — they shape our personality.

That’s why it’s important to realize that we should never be harsh with people around us. We should never discourage them when they start exploring new things, developing a new passion, or trying to explore who they are.
