Just like any other person trying to sell themselves on the internet, you are just like them.

This article combines strings of digested knowledge of Sales techniques, inspired by salesmen who have established and earned its mastery.

Picture yourself as a salesperson, in whatever the pendulum of life tilted you to, each moment you meet with people and express your thoughts and opinions, either on personal, social, or general subjects. The moment you submit your contribution, you’re selling yourself. Just like how you furnish your profile, organize your works, choose a niche, techniques you use in writing your works, engage other people’s content and leave a comment below their works. All this justifies how people perceive you and your work, here on Medium.

Whenever we interact with people for the first time, our looks give them the first impression. Just like selling a product, the physical outlook or design of the product creates a first perspective in the mind of the buyer.

For example, when buying a suit or gown or jewelry, before thinking of how much it would cost, you have to be sure that what you see aligns with your desires and that it looks just the way you want it, beautiful! or Awesome!

Followed by how we speak, what we say, and how we craft what we say, these three regulate the first impression that has been conceived by the other person after judging you by your looks.

Now with your words, you have adjusted the first impression of looks either positively or negatively.

Just like introducing a new product to a prospect, how you craft your speech around the product and the words you adopt to persuade them to buy will determine whether they will fulfill your wishes or dash along.

Now that you've introduced yourself with words, it has sold you further to what more people can say about you.

However, your behavior and gestures add a lot to the list. Your behavior and gestures could sell you to people even without getting to see you speak.

It is important to know that in the face of reality, we are all salesmen trying to mold and shape our personalities into fine, beautiful impressions, just like designing a product to attract people's attention, so that people can buy into whatever it is we say.

I guess you never knew yourself as a salesperson, until now! It’s not bad.

How To Boost Your Business 2 Vs.

Validity and Visibility are what all businesses need. However, these short and precise key techniques you must master to boost yourself and your businesses to the world.

Feel free to make them yours.

1. Sales Planning

As easily as planning could be overlooked, it is something that could determine success or failure in any sales process. This technique is where you develop strategies and set objectives to achieve your sales target.

2. Prospecting

The best salesmen go to lengths to generate leads and attract potential customers to create sales opportunities. This is the technique of spreading awareness for visibility through fliers, advertisements, and billboards.

3. Establishing Rapport

Elite salesmen recognize the significance of creating positive and harmonious connections with potential customers, building trust, and making the customers feel comfortable with their products and services. This technique might involve being an active listener, showing empathy, and adopting a communication style that aligns with the customer's preferences.

This technique sets the stage for a successful sales interaction and it's more likely the customer will consider your products or services offered.

4. Market research

The best salesmen don’t just sit around waiting for goodies to come to find them, they search for what interests their potential customers, or what problems they are facing that need to be solved. Try and understand what trends in the market and what differences you can make that make you unique from your competitors.

Ultimately, identifying and understanding your customer's needs will help put you ahead of the competition and allow you to make informed and productive sales decisions.

5. Present Solution

This part is where the best salesmen showcase the importance and benefits of their products or services and how they can solve the problems of their customers. This part could determine whether or not your customers will buy or otherwise. It could be the trickiest part when you only care about the features and prowess of your products or services and it could be the one to guarantee you a sale if you present it as a solution to one or two problems your customer is facing. They don’t care about what you did to the product or what features it has, they only care about the value it adds to them, and what problem it has to solve for them. Only then can they dip their hands in their pocket and give you their hard-earned money.

6. Handling Objections

Elite salesmen spend copious time sharpening their communications and negotiation skills to address and overcome the concerns and hesitations that a potential customer may express during a sales pitch. It requires the combination of listening skills, empathy, and the ability to communicate the value of the product or services in a way that resonates with the customer’s needs and concerns.

Effectively handling objections and doubts is crucial in a sales process, hence it helps build trust, demonstrate and spotlight product value, and more importantly increase the likelihood of you closing the deal, in the most pleasurable style.

7. Closing Sales.

Here comes the final stage of the sales process, the best salesmen make this step a leap toward persuading a potential customer to make a purchase or commit to a desired action. It is most important not to pressure a customer to pay for what you are selling at this stage but to guide them towards a decision that aligns with their needs and adds value to them.

Closing sales is a vital skill in sales and successful closures lead to achieving sales objectives and income goals. It mostly guarantees sales success after efficiently putting all the other techniques to use.

One of the goals of every salesperson is the satisfaction that comes from the products or services sold to a buyer. Every salesperson dreams of getting wonderful remarks and pleasant feedback from their customers. This only happens when you sell the expected value you claimed to your customers.

What do you get after this?

Resales, more sales, and referrals from your satisfied customers.

The next time you find yourself struggling in a Sales process, don’t forget to look back and engage.

Adios.
