They were a match made in heaven. They were that couple.

Both were tall, beautiful, and popular. Chemistry was off the charts. She laughed about each of his pranks, he fulfilled her every wish, and they made the rest of us realize what true love meant.

They were the quarterback and the cheerleader. They applied to the same college, moved in together, and were still madly in love. We all knew they were forever.

Then, life happened. He got a lucrative job offer at the coast. She had to move to the other side of the country for her master’s degree.

After seven years, they just … broke up.

Sadly, it got messy

When I got the news, I almost spilled my morning tea. If there was a couple I was 100% sure would get the happy ever after, it was them.

Yet they didn’t. And everyone understood why. He couldn’t turn down his dream job. She couldn’t turn down her dream college. Seeing firsthand how poorly long-distance relationships had turned out for their friends, they decided against one.
