Born 02/11/1847, in Ohio. As a kid, scarlet fever left Edison with hearing difficulties. Moved to Michigan and attended school only for 12 weeks because of difficulties learning.
At 12, published a newspaper, at 15, worked as a telegraph operator, and at 19 for The Associated Press.
In 1869, invented the Universal Stock Printer and the phonograph 1877.
