TikTok Introduces “TikTok Series,” A New Way To Monetize Your Content
Aka TikTok’s lackluster attempt at helping its Creators monetize their content
I opened my TikTok “Creator tools” menu, I believe, check to see how much I had received from TikTok’s Creator Fund. I scrolled to the bottom to find the menu button for it and discovered a new option selection below it.
It read, “TikTok Series”, with a little icon with a dollar sign before it.
Indicating it was uncharted territory for me was a little red dot. I was excited and curious. Another way for me to make money on TikTok? Sign me up!
I pressed the button and was prompted to visit the website “tiktok.com/series” on a desktop. So I whipped out my computer and found the page. After accepting the guidelines and reading the information presented to me, I could not have been more disappointed.
What is TikTok Series?
TikTok Series is a way for users to put premium content behind a paywall and make money when users decide to pay for said content. Each “series” can contain up to 80 videos with each being at most 20 minutes long and Creators can charge between $0.99 to $189.99 for them.
