Time
Tick-Tock says your Clock.
Time is one of those things
All you can do is watch as your pendulum swings
Never mind about the time you have lost
You can’t get it back at any cost
Do you remember being young
When everything was full of fun
That sweet smell of the trees and grass
Going to school and sitting in class
Or going for a summer swim
When we could just do things on a whim
Felt like we had all the time in the world
Surely we could never grow old
But the clock ticks on
As the days grow long
Work steps in the way of play
Old days become this new today
Responsibilities have their way
And what we forget
We come to regret
What about the time spent
On things that no longer make sense
We can never get back
What we used to lack
Nobody else around to pick up the slack
That time is now long gone
